Class Offerings

KIDS CLAY - 5th to 8th Grade - September 2nd - November 4th
Tuesday Afternoons, 3:15pm - 5:00pm
Students will learn the basics of making objects out of clay, and will learn how glazes and other surface treatments work to turn mud to stone, and into beautiful works of art. Everyone will leave this class with several finished functional, and/or sculptural objects, and have an opportunity to work on the wheel. This class is limited to five students. $325
KIDS CLAY II - 5th to 8th Grade - September 4th - November 6th
Thursday Afternoons, 3:15pm - 5:00pm
This class is for students who have taken my Kids Clay class. Please do not register for this class unless your child has already taken a class at Green House. Students will choose whether they would like to throw or hand-build, and projects will be more self directed than the previous class. This class is limited to five students.

HAND-BUILDING FOR ADULTS - Beginner to Advanced - September 2nd - November 4th

For new students this class will serve as an introduction to clay, the hand building process and the studio. Over the course of 10 weeks, we will explore the basics of hand-building and will work with tools, stamps, underglazes and glazes to create interesting and beautiful forms. This class is limited to five students, and is a pre-requisite and foundational course for anyone interested in taking any other class at Green House Pottery. Returning hand builders will have the opportunity to expand on their skills and ideas. $350
WHEEL THROWING FOR ADULTS - September 4th - November 6th

This class is open to anyone who has already taken the hand-building class here at Green House. Over the course of 10 weeks, first time students will explore the wheel and focus on the basics of wheel throwing, focusing on cups, mugs and bowls to start, and will experiment with trimming and additions like handles. Returning students will build on prior experiences and learn spouts, vases, and possibly lids. This class is limited to five students. $375
