I focus mostly on creating work that is functional, comfortable, and is as wonderful to have as to hold. I hope that it will naturally find a place in ones daily life. My work explores the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This idea is embodied in how the wares are made, the finished work, and how it fits into the everyday life of the user. I am committed to making thoughtful work, with an eye towards sustainability. All of my work is fired in an electric kiln. It is useful, beautiful and durable.
I received a B.F.A. in Ceramics from Syracuse University and an M.F.A. from Ohio University. I have completed residencies at the Carbondale Clay Center, the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Millersville University, and the Red Lodge Clay Center.
